Sun Valley Animal Shelter issued the following announcement.
To the dear friends who are interested in me, I have a few helpful things to let you know to make your visit easier and more informative. Due to the high level of interest, SVAS is excepting APPLICATIONS in order to find me the right home for my specific needs. Please be advised, I will not go home the same day but if you are interested please come down to visit, fill out an application and stay for a "meet & greet" with an Adoption Counselor. This will give us a chance to speak in person and get to know you a little better, as we provide a customized adoption experience. We believe every adoption should be a positive experience for both the adopter and the shelter pet. By learning which characteristics are most important for your new pet and getting a chance to hear about my current training and socializing program, we can determine if I am the right match for you. We appreciate your patience and look forward to meeting you.

Where I came from...
I was brought to the shelter when my previous home was unable to care for me. My name might sound a bit odd to those unfamiliar with the film ‘Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'. When I first came to the shelter, I was more open and outgoing due to the small space I had being my own. After I was brought in an open room, I was overwhelmed with the large space and many places to hide. I tend to tread cautiously in new territory and come to new people at my own pace.
A little bit about me...
*Shy at first, warms up when ready
*Sweet & gentle
*Cautious with new places
*Loves mouse wands
*Look @ my gorgeous coat
My ideal home would include...
*As mentioned up top, I can be a bit on the shy side when coming into a new environment. I tread cautiously as if we were in an apocalyptic setting, finding all the nooks and cranies.
*This newly discovered territory will also take up a majority of my attention, so playtime will have to wait until I have figured out the bumps in the carpets.
*If you help me, with calm speak and soft petting, I will adjust faster. Don't be afraid of me while I am looking around, I just need something to occupy my mind.
*Mouse wands also help me adjust. I did not realize such a marvelous thing could exist, and it is just for me! It will also help me keep my figure lean and petite, just the perfect size for adventures.
*Be ready to tell the staff what awaits me in my new home, they can help you figure out ways to help me acclimate.
