A.s.t.r.o. issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare, adapted by Virginia Ludders, opens Friday, November 1 in the GCC Main Campus Performing Arts Center. Directed by Lesley Tutnick-Machbitz, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is GCC Performing Arts’ second play of the season.
On a midsummer’s night, the feuding fairy king and queen of the forest cross paths with four young lovers and a troupe of actors rehearsing a play. As their dispute grows, the magical couple and their chief mischief-maker, Puck, meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations. The course of true love is anything but smooth in one of Shakespeare’s most loved comedies.
Performances are November 1, 2 and November 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m., and November 7 at 2:30 p.m. General admission is $8 or $5 for students, staff, alumni, and seniors 55 and older (with ID). Seating is limited.
