Saving Paws Rescue Arizona recently issued the following announcement.
German Shepherd Dog Glendale, AZ
COAT LENGTH: Medium
HEALTH: Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered.
GOOD IN A HOME WITH: Other dogs, children.
Hi. My name is Leah and I’m about 2-3 years old. I’m a big sweetheart, who craves attention. I love people. The folks here at Saving Paws Rescue are helping me find my forever home. They think I’ll do fine in a home with kids and with other dogs.
I’m at the rescue, recovering from surgery. After the county animal control people picked me up as a stray, I was transferred to the rescue. I don’t remember what happened to me before that, but they think I may have been hit by a car. One of my back legs was broken and had not healed properly. That left me struggling to get around, because my other back leg is straight. To repair the leg that didn’t heal correctly, the doctor did an FHO procedure – in which they remove the ball of the hip. The ligament around the hip was stitched up and scar tissue is forming in the joint to prevent rubbing of bone on bone. A false joint will form, which should be pain free. It’s really not as bad as it sounds. My hip is healing. I walk just fine and they don’t think I’ll have any issues getting around.
I may not ever run as fast as some dogs, but my personality makes up for it. And while I probably won’t ever be interested in going hiking or running, I would love to share your couch with you.
If you think you have a place for me in your heart and on your couch, get in touch with the people at the rescue and they will arrange for us to meet.
If you can give Leah an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/
We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.
Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
